Folk with Poke. Live Music for Mothers Day at the Watchbox Winery
May 12 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Folk with Poke is an acoustic duo with an emphasis on vocal harmonies together with the addition of mandolin, banjo, fiddle and harmonica. They perform a wide range of music from such artists as J.J. Cale, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan Paul Kelly, and have now included some Celtic & Bluegrass music. We have performed at a variety of venues including wineries, cafes, breweries, festivals, agricultural shows & Sunday sessions. They currently perform regularly at the Beechworth Bakery and Seymour’s annual Alternative Farming Expo.
Mel is a renowned vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who hails originally from Canada. He was influenced by a broad genre of music and hence has become very passionate about playing several stringed instruments including guitar, banjo, mandolin & fiddle. He has performed solo and also with many well known bands in the NE for several years
Terry became interested in voice harmony during his teens when he would sing harmonies instead of the melodies, whilst listening to any recorded music. He is a self-taught acoustic guitarist with the help of friends along the way. Terry has performed solo and has been in several duos and groups in and around Wangaratta for several years.
